Feb. 2010 | Respondents' Planning to Watch & Buy a New TV for the FIFA World Cup, by Market

The People's Republic of China may not be participating in this year's World Cup, but an overwhelming 89% of Chinese who joined our latest newsletter survey are planning to watch the event. What's more, 31% of Chinese surveyed said they are planning to buy a new TV to prepare for it. In South Korea, where excitement has built up over North Korea's surprising qualification, 95% of respondents' - almost everyone surveyed - said they will watch. Indeed, respondents' across all Asian markets are planning to tune in to the event, and many of those say they will purchase a new TV to prepare for it.
So what brands of TV are on World Cup fans' minds? We asked respondents' to tell us the electronics brand name that first comes to mind when they think about the World Cup.
